Strength of a Fracture

“There is a kind of beauty in imperfection.”

                                                                         - Conrad Hill

Cracks in rocks due to high pressure are usually viewed as unwanted imperfections. After all, a single flaw in a building stone for industrial uses would mean the loss of water-resistance and strength in structure. However, there is beauty to seek in these weaknessess as well. Notice how they create unique patterns and how the colours could change along the fissures - they are never the same.

No stone cracks the same way as the other. An experiment to fill the cracks with resin thus accentuating the one-of-a-kind patterns of nature.
